Archival Discoveries at PGM

Our intern Jane C. has been digging through the mountains of archival materials in Pueblo Grande Museum's collections to help with the digitization and organization of the PGM archives. And recently, she came across some documentation that illustrates the beginnings of Pueblo Grande as a museum.

These correspondence letters are between Thomas Armstrong, Jr. and Omar Turney regarding Armstrong's purchase of Pueblo Grande. According to Archaeology of the Pueblo Grande Platform Mound and Surrounding Features (Downum and Bostwick, 1993), Armstrong purchased the property and gifted it to the city of Phoenix.
