A Letter From Maynard Dixon to PGM

Pueblo Grande Museum Collections Intern Jane found another cool correspondence letter in the archives. This one is from Maynard Dixon to Odd Halseth. Here's what she was able to find out:

The letter was written by a well known American West painter named Maynard Dixon (1875-1946). He resided in Tucson, Arizona and Utah (from May to November according to the stationary). Mr. Dixon was replying to Odd Halseth about a Civilian Defense project; to create art for the squadron rooms at Williams Field, Chandler, Arizona (now Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport). I could not find any information about whether the project was completed. But, I did find out that one of his artworks is on display at the Phoenix Art Museum, and there is a Maynard Dixon Museum in Tucson at the Medicine Man Gallery.
