Remembering Roger Lidman

It is with a heavy heart, and much regret that we share the news that our friend Roger Lidman, Director of Pueblo Grande Museum, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 after a long, hard fought battle against cancer. With a museum career spanning over 38 years, for 25 of those years, Roger led the museum as Director, "elevating its stature from a small museum to one of national stature, allowing millions of people to explore the ancient heart of Phoenix where the Hohokam people lived some 1,500 years ago."

In honor of Rogers' dedication and service, not only to Pueblo Grande Museum, but to the humanities, arts, historic and archaeological preservation communities in Arizona, we are collaborating with the Arizona Humanities Council to create and install a commemorative bench and "reflection area" to recognize his contributions.

To make a donation to the bench visit Arizona Humanities Council online at www.azhumanities.org click “Connect” on header bar, scroll to Roger Lidman Bench.

Roger was more than just a champion of the Museum and the humanities. He was a wonderful colleague, a thoughtful mentor, and a loyal friend. He is missed everyday, and continues to inspire all who knew him.

Sincerely,

The Pueblo Grande Museum Staff and Auxiliary
